A True FISHER........Man

Nick brought home some school papers yesterday & they were learning about the states. One question he had to answer was if you could go to any state, which one would you want to go to. His answer.......Alaska......and how would he get there? On a jet.

I asked him, how come Alaska?? To go FISHING he says. Oh DUH! Of course!! Forget about Disneyworld!!

We are picking up a surprise for him tonight. Will post pictures in the next few days!

Bad Mom or Independent Kid??

Last night wasn't too bad considering how sick all the kids are. Zach woke up around midnight I think & Phil brought him in by me & then he just stayed in bed & slept with us until about 2 or 3 I think it was. He woke up & I got him up & fed him on the couch. Then I put him back in his crib & went to bed. Next time I heard him I looked at the clock & it as 7:03....oh SHOOT I said to Phil. Looks like you are gonna have to take Nick to school. He leaves for the bus at 7:02. I looked up the steps & saw Nick's door was shut so figured he was still sleeping & decided to let him sleep in.

So I head upstairs to get Zach & go to the living room & see Nick's backpack is gone. I guess he got up this morning, got dressed & headed to the bus on his own!! I sat down & saw the bus drive by so I must have just missed him by a few minutes.

I have no idea if he ate any breakfast or brushed his teeth or anything.

So you decide, bad mom?? Or do I just have a really independent 1st grader?!??!

I will have to remind him though to wake me up if I'm not up there when it's time to go!!

Feeding Zachary!

The other night I let Lexi give Zachary a bottle. She was so excited to do this!! I think she would love to do it every day if she could!!

Sick Kiddo's!

First let's start with yesterday. Zachary & I went to the cities. I did a little shopping & then met up with my Ebay friends for dinner at the Macaroni Grill. It was my first time eating here. There was an Italian guy walking around singing to the patrons. At first it was kind of neat, but after it awhile, it got pretty annoying. It was just like, let the people EAT in peace!!! I tried this:

Mushroom Ravioli
Four ravioli stuffed with mushrooms and cheese. Served with our famous Carmela's marsala wine cream sauce

and it was o.k. Probably wouldn't order it again. For dessert, I had:

Dessert Ravioli
Crumbled peanuts, caramel and rich chocolate ganache wrapped in golden-fried pastries. Served with vanilla ice cream and topped with caramel sauce.

And this I would DEFINATELY order again. MMMMMM

Drove home in some snow. Not too bad, but I did have to pay attention to the road!! Zachary was a very good boy for mommy. Slept while I shopped & smiled for my friends!! And slept on the drive there & home!

On to the sickies. I think Nick brought it home from school. He then passed it to Lexi who has been coughing/runny nose for the last few days. She then passed it to Zander & now Zachary woke up with it.

Lexi still has it, Zander has it bad & Zach's is just starting. Last night was rough.

We got home from the cities at 10:00. I went to bed at 10:30. Zach woke up around 1:30 I think. I head upstairs & Lexi was in our room (I never heard her come down. She was on Phil's side of the bed) so she goes back to her bed & I get Zach & feed him. Put him back to bed about 1/2 hour later. I go back to bed & 15 mins later Zander wakes up crying. So I head up to get him, take him to the living room & snuggle with him for a bit, then give him some medicine & put him back to bed. Then I go back to bed until 5:45 when Zachary wakes up again. Get him & feed him. Then it's 6:30 & I go to wake Nick up for school. Get him off on the bus & put Zachary back to bed. Lay back down on the couch from 7 until I wake Lexi up at 7:30. Get her ready for school & send her off to the bus at 8:10. Then I head back to bed...and of course Zander is ready to get up. Well, Phil gets up & heads upstairs. He takes care of Zander & Zach for me so I can get some rest. He brings Zach in at 10:30 to eat & then Zach & I sleep until 11:30. I don't remember the last time I was in bed at 11:30!! 8 years ago maybe????

I got 3 of the kids to bed at 7:30 tonight. Nick went down at 8. Then at 9:30 I hear Lexi get up to go to the bathroom. Then at 10;30, Zander wakes up crying....so I get him, give him some medicine & put some Vicks on him.

I wonder who is next at getting up?? I better get to bed so I can get some sleep tonight!! Praying all the sickies get better soon & that *I* don't get it!!

Gymnastics Night!

Lexi had her first night of Gymnastics last night. We got there to watch the previous class & so she was able to check things out a little. Then they called her class & she went over to the group & then came back by me...choking up. I thought OH OH, not this again! I thought she'd be fine since she's in preschool & being around others & all. So they sat in the circle & she didn't want to go. Finally I walked over there with her & sat her down & she was fine. They broke down into groups & she was just fine the rest of the night.

On the way home I asked her what was wrong, why didn't she want to go in the circle. Too many kids, she said! It took probably a month last year before she felt comfortable going on her own. I hope next week she goes without incident!!

BRRRRRR

It's a windy day here today!!! Temp is 28 but feels like 11. Also the wind is like 40-50 MPH. When I think it's cold here, I just think about my friend in Alaska. She just called me....it's 19 below zero there. So it's kind of nice here, isn't it?!?!

B I N G O !

We went & played a little Bingo last night at the rec hall. I finally know what it feels like to yell B I N G O !!! I won $3.00!! Nick won too....$3.00 for him. The ones that didn't win....Phil, Eric, & Lexi. Although Phil DID win a door prize....and how fitting too. He won a gift certificate at Heads Up Hair Salon for a FREE HAIRCUT!!!!!!!! Now he has NO excuses not to go!!

Poor Nick!!

Last night his alarm went off at midnight. So he got up thinking it was morning. Phil heard the beeping upstairs (cause Nick never turns his alarm off....just lets it beep until I turn it off) & went to check it out. Here Nick was on the living floor all snuggled up in his blanket watching TV. Phil said he looked sooooo tired!

He sent him back to bed & he managed to get up this morning on time.

Guess we have to always check that alarm!! I don't usually turn it on cause he is good about waking up his own. We only use it after long weekends. I'm guessing little brother Zander was playing with it!

Excuse the mess but here's Phil's new projection TV set. It takes up the whole flippin' wall!! When he said he was getting a *big* screen, well I guess he meant it!!

Two Month Doctor Appointment!

I took Zachary to the doctor today for his 2 month well baby check with shots. Wah....my poor baby had to get three of them! He didn't like them ONE bit!! He's been a little fussy today because of it. He's been asleep now for a couple of hours & I hope we have a decent night. I'll just have to give him some more meds when he wakes up! His weight today was 12 pounds, 10 ounces. The other boys were over 14 pounds at their 2 mo appt & Lexi was over 13 pounds...so Zach is the runt of the litter! He is long & lean. He was over 24 inches. He's in the 75% percentile for weight so he's still big. I'm just used to 90% & above!!

Do I Dare Say It!??!

Well I think we have turned the corner with Zachary. The last few days...maybe even this whole week, he has been pretty good. The last *documented* fussy day was Dec 27. This week he seemed to be on a better schedule & more predictable with sleeping. He still gets up once or twice during the night. We've been able to put him in his bouncy chair for longer periods of time too which has been nice. I can go to the bathroom without him now!!! Yeah!!

Next week he'll have his 2 month check up already! Some of his little sleepers are getting tight on him so he's growing for sure!


****Edited to add....I think I jinxed myself by posting this!! Today has been not so good!! We have a birthday party to go to later & I suppose he'll sleep the whole time we are there!
